“It is a country like
Today the question to be asked is not whether one owns a cell
phone or not, but the question is what kind of handset do u have? What is its
cost? What facilities does it provide? What kind of camera does it have, etc.
There has been a huge revolution in the field of communication. People change
there cell phones as casually as they change their clothes. And due to this characteristic
of client base numbers of companies have entered this market of handset
manufacturing. The leading names in this sector are HTC, Sony Eriksson, and
Nokia.
Nokia is the world leader in mobile phone manufacturing. It
is a Finnish multinational communications
corporation that has its headquarter in Keilaniemi, Espoo, a city neighboring
Finland's capital Helsinki. Its client base is so huge that its handsets have
spread in more than 150 countries around the world. Nokia does not have only GSM
mobiles but it also produces mobiles for CDMA and WCDMA segment. It also
provides internet services like games, applications, music, maps, media, etc.
In 1992 Nokia launched its first GSM cell phone NOKIA 1011. Since then the
company has launched a wide range of handsets. The N-series handsets were a
revolution and it gained a huge popularity. Today the latest <a

available in the market is the E-series handset. These are launched to directly
compete with the blackberry devices, having full keyboard and cheaper prices.
Nokia has also entered the market of mini laptops and notebooks. Their new find

another brand in the cell phone sector which is fast growing and has got
remarkable recognition in the recent past. Founded in 1997, HTC was ranked
second best performing technology company in
Sony Ericsson is another top,
global, mobile phone manufacturer which serves the worldwide
communications market with innovative and feature-rich cell phones. The company
was launched in October 2001 and is a joint venture of Sony Corporation and
Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson. Since then company has received number of
awards globally. The model Xperia™ X10 mini won “red dot product design award”
in the year 2010. The international red dot design award dating back to 1955 is
the largest and most renowned design competition in the world. Xperia™ X10 mini
is a compact and smart touch screen phone. It features a 5 megapixel camera and

The main focus of these companies today, be it Nokia, HTC or Sony
Eriksson, is on keeping up with the market trends and fashion. These
manufacturers constantly monitor the markets and adapt the new trends and
fashion and design there cell phones accordingly.
